Craig Low is a photographer, writer, and documentary storyteller based on Long Island, New York.
He grew up in the Finger Lakes — skiing, windsurfing, and learning early that a camera was the best reason to pay close attention. That instinct took him across the country and back — rock climbing in the Gunks and the granite faces of the West, hiking through nearly every mountain range in the lower 48, chasing consistent winds along both coasts and all the wild places in between.
He brought a camera to all of it.
A Master's in Public Administration deepened his instinct for public interest storytelling — the understanding that what happens in communities, landscapes, and institutions matters, and that photography is one of the most honest ways to say so. That conviction was sharpened further through the MediaStorm methodology program, whose approach to documentary storytelling and visual narrative has informed how Craig thinks about every frame and every piece of writing.
For the past thirteen years Craig worked as a publisher of regional media on Long Island — building editorial teams, developing community-based journalism, and learning from the inside how stories reach audiences, why some land and others don't, and what sustains a body of published work over time. That experience informs everything he brings to his photography and writing today.
His work now lives at the intersection of landscape, community, and the stories that don't make the front page but matter anyway. The Great South Bay freezing over. A ninety-year-old man telling his family's history for the last time. Four thousand miles walked on the same boardwalk, always different.
